Jacob Demers is a wetland biologist from Isle-aux-Allumettes with a Master’s in Biology from Mount Allison University. After graduating, he worked with Parks Canada as a field researcher before joining Ducks Unlimited Canada as a conservation project lead. Jacob returned to his home region in 2024 to join the MRC of Pontiac as Environment Coordinator, where he oversees wetland and watercourse management, contributes to land conservation and sustainability efforts, and supports special initiatives such as Kidjimaninan.
